Fifteen Minute Laundry Room Fix

Organization is the name of the game in January. Is there a better place to start this never ending journey than in the laundry room? Not in my house!

GOOD EATS Clock Using Vintage Wood Type

As many of you already know, I have a thing for (and quite a collection of) old wood type and use it in my projects wherever I can. A local restaurant asked me to assemblage them a wall clock and after much puttering around in my lab with nothing striking me, I decided to pull out the type and see what sort of design I might come up with.

How to Make an Indoor Window Box

Here is a great alternative to a wreath in the window. The best part is that what you pop in can pop right back out. All the plant materials remain in their original pots and are hidden by moss. This makes for quick and easy pit stops allowing you to win the race against the seasons.

How to Make a Cranberry Bog Scoop Wreath Holder

I know what your thinking... I live in Minnesota (known as Minnesnowta to us here) so, this must be my old snow shovel! Ha Ha Ha! It certainly would make quick work on my walkway. But no, it is a vintage two-handed comb scoop, once used to dry harvest cranberries, that Sue and I came across not too long ago on one of our junking adventures. Well, we decided that it would make the perfect welcoming wreath holder outside my red dutch door on the side porch. With my two little one's helping, we made it a kid friendly, family affair. Now everyone feels right at home when they enter our home this holiday season.

How To Make A Santa Snow Globe

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... inside this adorable vintage flower aquarium made snow globe! I was looking for a family friendly winter project to do with my two kids, when I came across this beautiful vintage flower aquarium. I knew right away that it would make the perfect snow globe! Add a vintage Santa pepper shaker, Mrs. Clause the salt was broken long ago, and you have the makings of the perfect snow storm. Really, what child do you know that doesn't love to shake and turn a snow globe and watch the flakes fly? Heck, I don't know an adult that doesn't love to do the same!

What to Bring the Hostess

Don't leave the hostess feeling ho hum about yet another pine scented candle left on her entry table. Instead, give her a case of the woo hoo's by gifting something a little more out of the ordinary. A paper white in a jar...now that's worth celebrating.

Upcycled Cottage Industrial Candleholder

Come on everybody, let's do the upcycle. No, it's not a new fangled exercise program to achieve a flat belly in ten days or less, but rather it's taking items from your home and using them for something completely different than what they were meant to do. I just love using unexpected pieces to create things of beauty and purpose. This candle holder is crafted with leftovers from a building project at my home, some decorative craft paper fresh off the scrap pile, some ribbon, and a vintage watch face. Unlikely partners for sure, but that's the beauty of it all!

Display Case Frame

I am forever searching for a creative way to frame those adorable school pictures of my little angels. You know how the grandparents adore them! So, I have made it a tradition to give them as gifts at the holidays. Well, I was thrilled this year to find this Germaine Monteil Couture Cosmetiques display case! Whew, maybe it will help tame those bright fun backgrounds we all love so much, that don't flatter any home decor. Let's see...
